  • Mechatronics I                                                                               

    • Semester:  Spring

    • Instructor: Fredricks

This is an introductory level course, where students will learn the fundamentals of DC and AC electronic devices and circuits, pneumatic devices and automation, control systems, sensors, motors, robotics, and mechanically geared systems.  The class will cover both theory and practical hands-on lessons, with extensive time spent building and characterizing circuits and systems.  Multiple projects will be included, emphasizing teamwork and technical problem solving.  

  • Mechatronics II                                                                                

    • Semester: Fall

    • Instructor: Fredricks

This class will build on Mechatronics I, with an emphasis on broadening and deepening knowledge into more complex electronics, as well as true automation and robotic design and technology.  Motion control and automation software will be introduced, as well as more advanced intelligent sensors and instrumentation.  Commonly used machine elements and mechanisms will be studied and built, giving students an opportunity to develop full automation system experience through lessons and projects.
