Animal Science I

This course serves as an engaging introduction to the fundamental principles of animal science. Students will explore the diverse world of animals, gaining a foundational understanding of anatomy, physiology, behavior, and the significance of animals in various industries. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge, hands-on activities, and real-world applications, students will develop a solid foundation for further studies in animal science or related fields.

Semester: Spring

This course focuses on animal anatomy, physiology, digestion, reproduction, housing and facilities, management, and genetics of the food animal industry. Leadership development and employability skills are integral to the course and are delivered through authentic experiences.
*Animal Science II- Companion Animal
Semester: Spring 2026
Instructor: Haigler
This course focuses on animal welfare, safe handling practices, nutrition, digestion, breeding, grooming, care, classification, and the history of the companion animal industry. Leadership development and employability skills are integral to the course and are delivered through authentic experiences.
