Wednesday is fall picture day!
Students brought home picture forms last week. You can also view the flyers on Facebook and on our website.
Attention parents of 7th graders:
If your student has not had their Tdap and meningococcal vaccine boosters, they must have them by September 13th in order to attend school.
Attention any 8th graders who would like to try out for JV Cheerleading for this football season:
Tryouts will be held tomorrow and Tuesday from 3:30 to 5:30 at Avery High School.
This week in athletics:
Monday Volleyball plays at Rosman beginning at 4:30.
Tuesday Soccer plays at home against East Yancey beginning at 4:00.
Wednesday, Volleyball plays at home against Bowman beginning at 4:30.
Thursday, Soccer plays at Cane River beginning at 4:00.

Attention 6th grade parents, please make sure your student has turned in their permission slip for the team-building trip to Camp Luther Rock on Wednesday. Buses will leave Avery Middle at 8:15 and return at 2:30.
Athletics
Monday our volleyball team plays Harris at home beginning at 4:30.
Tuesday soccer plays at Madison beginning at 4:00.
Wednesday volleyball plays at Madison beginning at 4:30.
Thursday soccer plays their first home game against Mitchell beginning at 4:00.

Soccer practice is canceled for today due to weather.
All afternoon activities and practices are canceled for this afternoon due to impending severe weather. Our area is expected to have large hail, strong winds and power outages.
Volleyball will have tryouts tomorrow from 3:00-5:00.

Attention Rising 8th Grade Band Students:
There are now opportunities for Avery County 8th grade band members to participate in the 2023 Viking Band marching show! Starting next Tuesday, August 1, we invite all interested 8th graders to the High School Band Hall from 11 am to 1:45 pm. Please contact Mr. Hodges or Ms Corbliss for details at jeffhodges@averyschools.net.
All rising 7th graders must provide the school with documentation of Tdap and meningococcal vaccines on or before September 13th.
Sport physicals will be offered at Avery High School Wednesday, 7/26 from 5:00 to 8:00, cost is $20. Forms are attached.
