Tomorrow is Jungle Jam Friday. Please come dressed in house colors! There will be no school on Monday Sept 2nd for the Labor Day Holiday. After school will begin on Sept 3rd.

Registration is open for all YMCA fall youth recreation programs for students in grades pre-K – 5th grade. Fall Recreation programs include rec soccer, swim team, SPIRIT dance program and club basketball. Monday, August 26th is the last day to sign up for some of these programs. The school improvement team meeting and PTO meeting scheduled for tomorrow at 5:30 will now be held on Thursday at 5:30. Apologies for the schedule change. This meeting is open to all parents. We will discuss goals- budgets- and the upcoming fall fling.

Tomorrow our Kinder students will join their new house. Kinder families are encouraged to come to school to be apart of this at 7:50am. Parents will wait in the front until Jungle Jam begins. Please drop off in line and then come back and park to walk in. All students needs to wear their new Just BE shirts tomorrow and add in their house colors with it! Bring the energy and spirit!

Today was a great first day. We hope students came home happy and ready for day 2! Please remember to download the rca house points app. Click forgot password- login and you will see your child if you have given the school your email address. After School application emails were sent out from the YMCA recently. If you have not enrolled please do so. The YMCA has just notified us that after school care will not begin until September 3rd due to staffing issues. We just wanted to make parents aware of this information now for planning purposes.

Our Fall Fling has been set for Sept 6th! If you are interested helping with asking/gathering donations please email or text Kerri Ledford. kerriledford@averyschools.net

Happy Summer BES! Please mark your calendars now for Open House on August 9th at 5:00pm. A School wide meeting will be held at 5:15 then students will visit classrooms following!

We are in need of regular plastic hangers and also hangers for pants etc. please drop off at school if you have some!

Doors to the gym will open up at 8:25 for seating. Promotion will start at 9am.

Remember tomorrow is Field Day! Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet Due to potential injury: NO sandals, flip flops or CROCS Water shoes or tennis shoes are BEST Students should bring dry clothes to change into after their activities, along with a bag to put wet clothes in. This includes a towel, shoes, socks, and underwear.Sunscreen should be put on at home We will have a hot dogs for lunch

Tomorrow is 5th grade parent Jungle Jam at 7:55! 5th grade will go to Grandfather Mtn tomorrow. 2nd grade will go to the Y to swim.

5th graders will take the Science EOG tomorrow at 7:50am. Please remember your headphones. Also please be on the lookout for tear free baby shampoo for kickball on field day on the 28th.

Tomorrow 3rd graders will take the Reading EOG. Also tomorrow at 1:40 will be Jungle Jam. We will host 3rd grade parents!

ALTRUISMO End of the Year Event Tomorrow, May 15th, 2:30-4pm Games, Music, Snacks and Fun! Parents please be at school by 4pm to pick up students (unless they are in afterschool)
